Israeli fighter jets attacked Syria

Reported that Israeli fighter jets attack by Lebanon's airspace.

A number of reports in the U.S. media said Israeli fighter jets launched air strikes into Syria.

The report, citing an unidentified U.S. official, said the attack targeted a weapons arsenal that is indicated to be sent to Hezbollah, Lebanon.

So far there has been no confirmation from the Israeli and Syrian governments related to this incident.

An unidentified U.S. official says an Israeli air strike into Syria likely take place Thursday or Friday, but the Israeli fighter jets did not enter Syrian airspace.

A spokesman for the Israeli embassy in Washington declined to comment on the report.

But the spokesman - told Reuters news agency - added: What we can say is, that Israel is determined to prevent the shipment of chemical weapons or other weapons that could change the game by the Syrian regime to terrorist groups, especially Hezbollah in Lebanon.

While the Syrian ambassador to the UN said he was not aware that there is an Israeli attack that took place in the country.

Meanwhile, Lebanon's national news agency quoted a Lebanese military spokesman said two Israeli fighter jets violated Lebanese airspace in the southern city of Rmeish on Friday.

Mentioned enemy aircraft circling around the Lebanon area, and then go.

Earlier this week, Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon announced that Israel launched air strikes in January and then to Syria.

He said that the delivery of advanced weapons to radical militant groups such as Hezbollah is a red line for Israel, and Israel will act when the line is breached.
